82nd Annual Lot Owners Meeting

New Beach Association

Woodland Beach

Meeting Sept.10, 2011

The 82nd annual meeting of New Beach Association, Inc. was called to order at 10:00AM. by President,Bette Rodey. Roll call vote of the board was taken and present were:

President, Bette Rodey, Vice-Pres., Norman Betts, Treasurer, Beverly Betts & Secretary, Linda Gagne. Trustee, Bobby Carter was absent because of his work schedule.

Everyone stood & faced the flag and the pledge of allegiance was recited. Larry Morgan made the motion to accept the minutes of the Sept. 11, 2010 annual meeting and

Bob Gagne gave support to the motion. All said yes and the motion carried and the minutes will beplaced on file. Ed Martin made the motion to accept the financial report

5/31/2010 to 5/31/2011 and the parks funds thru 5/31/2011 and Larry Morgan gave his support to the motion. All present voted yes and the motion carried and the reports

will be placed on file. Bob Gagne gave an updated report on the seawall project. He stated that the wall is now complete and the construction company still has a list of items

that need to be finalized in our parks and beach before the Frenchtown Resort Authority will authorize their final payment. There are many rocks that were left behind on the

beach and waterfront and Posen Construction is suppose to be returning this fall to remove them. The skate park area needs to have the black top repaired and there are

some spots in the park that still need restoration work such as filling in some ruts and more grass seed. This should be completed this fall. Bette Rodey reported that the roads

will be repaired by November 2011. There are many areas that are in need of repair.

During Open Discussion Mr. Burlew had a complaint about a party that was held last summer and people were parking everywhere. He said the officer that responded said

there was nothing they could do about it. The officer did ask two people to move their vehicles and they did move them immediately.

Bette Rodey stated that there is nothing the board could do about such a matter and the situation was taken care of but she did caution Mr. Burlew that 911 lines should not

be held up with excess complaints of this nature. Discussion was also held on off road vehicles driving on our roads. Much discussion was held on four wheelers, mopeds,

three wheelers, motorbikes, and go carts on our streets. Mr. Gagne reminded everyone that our streets are the same as any Michigan highway and the offenders can be

ticketed the same as on any street. Mr. Morgan stated that he does call the police to report such activities and they have responded and spoke to the offenders .

The only thing we as lot owners can do to protect ourselves is to call the police and report when you see these children and adults on such vehicles. Ed Martin complained that

he followed one vehicle to their home and it was Bobby Carter on his four wheeler and Jennifer Carter stated that she does ride her four wheeler on the streets all the time and

she will take her chances as to whether or not she gets ticketed. She did state that she does not zoom up and down the road and she uses it to ride from her home to her in-laws

and she realizes that it is illegal but she drives it safely. Mr. Al Rodey stated that some people call the police but then they go off and hide and don’t want anyone to know they

called—we need to be responsible and report any problems to the proper authorities and be willing to talk with them when they do respond to thecomplaint. Mr. Burlew wanted

to thank Norman Betts for all he does for the association in keeping control of the parking and keeping the trash picked up. Everyone agreed and Norman got a big round of

applause for his efforts. Mr. Modica asked why the board totally closed off the entrance to the park at the skate park, he stated that he has a bad hip and ankle and can not climb

over the guard rail at this point to get through—Norman Betts explained that he closed it off because the kids were going thru with their off the road vehicles. He said he will redo

it to make a small opening to walk through.

Bob Gagne made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 11:15AM and Larry Morgan supported the motion and all said yes and the meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Gagne
